Irma was hooked on the excitement of Real Estate ever since she purchased a loft in the University Village area. She worked for UIC, so living that close to campus was a definite advantage. In order to buy this loft though, she had to sell her single family home, located in the Chicago Lawn area. “My little home was really pretty, but had only one bath, and smallish bedrooms. I was sure it wouldn’t sell. To my surprise, it was under contract in 4 days!” With proceeds from the sale, she was able to put 20% down on the “wildly expensive University Village loft.” That was over 10 years ago, and since then Irma has received her sales agent license, and in 2007, she obtained her broker’s license. Just recently, Irma received the Short Sales & Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certification. “It’s important to be knowledgeable about changes that ultimately affect us all, and most importantly, to be ready to give our clients top notch assistance. Irma still owns that loft in University Village, and a Duplex in University Commons, as well. But her home is a lovely French Country Bungalow in Clearing, where she lives with her husband, son, and 2 adorable Pomeranians. “I’m as hooked, on the excitement or Real Estate, as ever – more so, in fact. My only problem is that I fall in love with too many of the homes I tour!” |
